The Clean & Jerk is one of two Olympic Lifts; it is performed in two movements as such: competitors first "clean" the barbell from the floor to an intermediate position, "racking" the bar on the front of their shoulders, then "jerking" the barbell to a position above their head. It differs from the Snatch, as the snatch is performed in one smooth motion.[1]
